Sir I am suffering from bipolar disorder from last 15 years I am taking veniz 75 morning and evening and gabantip at and lamitot dt 100 in night but not get satisfactory results it's have any permanent treatment or not can I live life like a normal person or not please help.

I don't heart any mention of therapy apart from the medication. You need to seek the help of a counselor and work in tandem with medicines. In counseling, which incidentally will be a long term intervention, you will learn of a lot of ways to cope with life and make adjustments that are essential for normal living. Emotional therapy will alleviate a lot of the problems faced in this condition because it is a mood disorder. You must exercise regularly, eat healthily and sleep normally too. If your motivation and cooperation is good much can be achieved. You must have a time-structured schedule filled with interesting and reasonable activities and it must be monitored for compliance and delivery. In this combination of medication with therapy is maintained for at least three years without any episodes or breakdowns, it is possible to taper the medication in consonance with the doctor.

Dear lybrate-user, you can live like normal person, if your tablets are adjusted frequently depending on the mood. Please maintain daily mood chart regularly and take it to the psychiatrist. Probably you may need to increase of lamitor dt, if mood switch is frequent, if it is worsening of depression, veniz may be increased. Frequent visit to the psychiatrist with your mood chart becomes the permanent treatment for leading a normal life.
