Hi Dr. This is the second time my boyfriend of 3 years is getting a cold sore after being with me, on the 3rd of july we saw each other and kissed and on the 4th he got one just by his nostril, it went away and we kept seeing each other throughout the month. Now 14th we were together we had unprotected sex, oral sex and kissing, the next day he told me it came back and this time on his upper lip. But I did?t get anything, i?ve never gotten any of these sores. I do get recurrent yeast infections and I had a butt crack itch and tear but that?s about it. We?ve both never had genital sores or anything apart from the ones appeared on his face. He?s my first boyfriend and only sexual partner, but he?s had sex with many women before me, I don?t understand what is going on. Is it perhaps the yeast infection causing the herpes on his lip? Do I need antibiotics?

lybrate-user, tell him to test for herpes infection. You don't need any antibiotics as it is viral disease. There are two kind of herpes, labial and genital.
