Hello. I am 25 years old living with my family currently preparing for postgraduation entrance exams. Even after little things (someone making a joke of me or saying hurtful things or fights), it takes me too long to come out of them. Sometimes there is outburst of anger after which immense guilt. I feel very low and demotivated. Mmmy concentration decreases and I feel like crying all the time. I don't feel like eating any food and sit inside my room only and my head aches constantly (k/c/o migraine. Previously taken prophylaxis propranolol 40 mg and amitriptyline 5 mg) it sticks to my mind in a way that I feel suicidal as well and feel like hanging on the fan. I have been getting episodes of anxiety for which I was prescribed etizolam in 2015 and I continue to take that on sos basis. Recently I was made fun of by my parents and I am in not feeling well for the past few days .is there anything that I can do.

Hi lybrate-user. You look too much troubled with what you are going through. Suicidal thoughts and the planning of doing something harmful is really worrisome. Constant headaches even after the prophylactic medicines is also something to be taken care of. But right now I really want you to take a professional help personally. I would like to advise you to see a psychiatrist for your symptoms- rumination, crying spells, decreased appetite, n not feeling like talking to anyone along with occasional suicidal thoughts- which are enough to make diagnosis of depressive disorder. See a psychiatrist asap and start the medications and therapy. This will help you get rid of the sad mood and negative thoughts you have been having. Only thing you can do in this case is go and see a psychiatrist in person. You will be able to talk to the psychiatrist openly and may be more dynnamics are explored and reach a diagnosis and thereby a treatment that would suit you. Take care.
