I am a 17 year old male, I went to bank on 11 september and there was a stray dog sitting on stairs. I do not know if the stray dog was rabies free or not, so when I went to the stairs I touched the reeling (fence for the stairs) and I do not know if there was saliva of dog present on reeling. Then I accidentally put that hand in my mouth and also touched a wound on my leg which I do not know if was completely healed or not so do I need rabies vaccine my family doctor said you do not need vaccine.

The dog has to be observed for any signs of rabies infection. It will be safer if you get a rabies vaccination as you said about touching the open wound with the same hand. If you feel there was saliva present then it will be safer to get a anti rabies vaccination.
