It's normal for infants to pass stool even after every 5-7 days. What's more important is the consistency of the stool. If it's soft and there's no abdominal distension, it's okay for the baby to pass stool every 5 days. Treatment of constipation of infants is a huge topic & it can be harmful if treatment is tried without a pediatrician. Red flag signs are-- failure to thrive, abdominal distension, intermittent diarrhoea, rectal bleeding, h/o delayed passage of stool at birth (>48 hrs) etc.

It's normal for infants to pass soft stools upto once in a week. Look for refusal to feed, abdominal distension and vomiting and a sick looking child. If the baby looks playful and is breastfeeding well, one may wait. This doesn't seem to be constipation and treatment is not required in this case.
