Hi lybrate-user ji, this is normal gastro colic reflex so don't give unnecessary antibiotics, if it's not watery than no need to do anything.

Hello lybrate-user, at this age it is usual to pass 2-3 stool/day due to gastrocolic reflex or one stool even in 4 days. Every episode of loose stools is not diarrhoea. Using unnecessary medicine for every episode of loose stool is not advisable unless it is very much indicated. Most common cause of diarrhea in children is rotavirus diarrhea so antibiotics have no role. Better focus on feeding and give zinc supplement. You may take private consultantion online.

This is called gastro-colic reflex. U neednot use any medicine. It will settle down on its own.

Children in this age have the habit of putting everything in their mouth, so indigestion is common. Do not give antibiotics for all the episodes. Get a stool routine and if the test shows infection, then give antibiotics. Avoid milk (not breast milk) and milk products during loose stools. Give plenty of liquids and maintain hydration. Give rice based diet, loose stool will settle on its own.
