I am 46 years old, I mostly sleep late at night, and this often cause physical weakness, and stomach related problem mainly indigestion, gas formation, and short breath, breathlessness. I have visited doctors a numerous time, they prescribed gastric medicines like rablet, domperidone and vitamins which I have taken for months. Of late, I feel short breath occurs frequent when my body gets weak and during this when I rest and lie down for 30 minutes to 1 hrs my breathing gets normal. I want to know if this short breath could be chronic pulmonary disease or some asmatic or gastric related health problem. I have suffered short breath (not satisfied in breathing, uncomfortable) since many years, and usually it appears when sleeping late, and sometimes when feeling hungry. Doctors check my lungs and says its fine and medicine I had taken are gastric related but seems it doesn't work much. I would be grateful if you kindly suggest on my problem.

Hello lybrate-user, from what it seems from your complaints, seems to be a life style problem. If you change your food habits a bit and having an early dinner would do. Your breathlessness could be a part of your acid reflex disease. U can take antacids or ppi for a while. If it still perturbs, please consult a pulmonologist:)
