My mother has diabetes (51 years). Mm,platelet count 2.99 lakhs/cu. Mm, neutrophil 82%, lymphocyte 16%, monocyte 1%, eosinophil 1%, basophil 00%, under peripheral smear it's written "the erythrocytes are normocytic and normochromic. Platelets seem to be adequate on smear" under liver function test, bilirubin total 1.03 mg/dl, bilirubin conjugated 0.36 mg/dl, bilirubin unconjugated 0.67 mg/dl, total protein 8.42 gm/dl, albumin 4.76 g/dl, globulin 3.66 gm/dl, albumin: globumin 1.3:1, sgpt (alt) 49 u/l, sgot (ast) 23u/l, alkaline phosphatase 165 u/l, gamma gt 92 u/l. Tonight her feet were exceptionally swollen and when pressed on with a finger once weren't coming back out. The swelling increased within last 2 hours, this has happened in the past a few times and went away. She hasn't really been exercising or working out. What should I do? I plan on beginning a speed walking routine everyday from tomorrow onwards for her. I wasn't present here when her diabetes got this worse and now that I am here I want to help her get better. What should I do?
