How good are modafinil (cns stimulant), piracetam, citicoline and creatine as nootropics?, is modafinil bad enough to cause psychosis and on how long usage does it cause a psychotic episode with auditory hallucinations, any side effects as such associated with these above mentioned drugs, I hope most of them r really safe and have no major side effects with normal population, so how bad r those ?and how potent r they as nootropics?

Dear lybrate-user, nootropics are used for improving cognitive functioning. Though literature tells about psychotic symptoms with cns stimulants, I have not seen much in my practice, pls meet a psychiatrist in person to discuss your condition and the requirements for nootropics. Hope this helps.

Dear Javvaji, No tablet is safe. Every tablet has side effects since they are routed through various organs before reaching the target organ. I agree that there are no major side effects with these nootropics. All nootropics are not 100% potent. They may be of very little help in normal population. Don't include modafinil in this list. It is better to avoid for normal persons. Other tablets if you can afford, you can take.
