Dear Dr. sizdon plus is a brand name for risperidone which is an antipsychotic used for psychosis. The guidelines for use generally depends on the number and frequency of episodes of psychosis in a lifetime till date, severity of episodes and the nature of illness. Your description of mild does not suffice to explain how long to continue with the medication. In case, the above mentioned person had a first episode for which he/she is taking treatment and the symptoms have subsided and returned to normal functioning, we can think of slowly tapering the dose.
