I am taking azulix 2mf for dm. My concern is about the recent controversy on the ndma impurities in certain prolonged release metformin which can lead to cancer. Would taking an immediate release metformin be better? Can I get advise on which pharmaceutical's metformin is safe (with least ndma impurity)

Nitrosamines increase the risk of cancer at above acceptable levels over long periods of time. We don't expect short term exposure at levels above acceptable levels would increase cancer. However, consult a good physician for further information in this regard.
