I had a surgical abortion and immediately after had a copper iud inserted. It's been 5 weeks post abortion and i'm expecting my period. However i've been spotting within the last 4 days and the blood is brown in colour like a delayed period. Also see some thick clumps when I wipe with tissue. For two days the spotting stopped and it resumed today. Not sure if this is a period or the start of a period? I was told the iud would make my periods much heavier so i'm a bit confused.
