Hi lybrate-user, polycystic ovaries is primarily a lifestyle disease leading to hormonal imbalance. It is commonly seen nowadays in young girls due to the sedantary lifestyle which manifests the underlying genetic predisposition to pcos. The long term treatment is by dietary modification, exercise (45 minutes/day) and weightloss (lose about 5% of your body weight).
