I suffer from rumination syndrome. As in, after a meal, I regurgitate my food, bring it up, chew it again and swallow it again. But while that happens, I have palpitations and a bit of chest pains. Also, I am out of breath so I breathe heavily and my heart rate is fast. Is the pain and fluttering of the heart due to acidity and the acid coming up in the esophagus or is there any damage happening to the heart valves or the heart in itself? Like, will it cause any damage to the heart and its functioning or will it affect and hurt only the esophagus?
