I do have an yeast infection, but I also get frequent urination, so physician gave me metronidazole, but nothing happens after taking it. Again he gave me azithromycin doubting pid and after taking it, I am not sure but sharp pain get worse and frequent urination doesn't change. I have taken it only once and I can't courage to take it again. Why then I am getting frequent urination, how can a yeast infection cause it? I never been sexually active. If I do have pid, why frequent urination has no effect? I have pcos, and it is not in control, but when it was almost controlled even then, I am getting frequent urinations.

Hello, thanks for the query. Madam yeast infection (candida albicance) is not treated by metronidazole. That drug is given for trichomoniasis and anerobic bacterial infection. Azithromycin is also for bacterial infection. For yeast fluconazole is needed. Urinary tratc infection is usually a bacterial one, where as vagunal infection can be due to cnadida, trichom0na nd some bacteria. So please give correct information whether you have vaginal or urinary tract or both infections as treatment will differ. Thanks.
