Dear User, Type 2 Diabetes is not a genetic condition, rather it is an acquired condition due to a sedentary lifestyle, obesity etc. There is a chance the child is prone to it when he becomes an adult, but being active and avoiding obesity along with other factors will definitely be helpful. However at birth Type 2 DM does not pass on to the child. If you found my answer helpful, please leave a Positive feedback as it helps me with my Practice. Thank you.
