I recently had a fistulctomy surgery it was a minor surgery, after the surgery I did not had a bowl movement till now, I usually pass gas from the anus! I do not have any particular wound pain, but I always get this urge to go to the toilet frequently when I sit its like the poop is coming but I can not get it out! its been 3 days after surgery now, my doctors say its normal and the stool will pass ultimately, I have been taking laxatives and necessary medicines and I have light discharge in the anus after I apply ointment around the anus area, is it normal? Or should I be worried? I had an intersphincteric fistula of 1.2 cm in length and the tract was removed! please reply I am worried!

Hello a complex fistulas, intersphincteric fistulas can take some time to heel. Post surgery there can be a mild discharge of clear fluid which in minimal quantity is normal. And passing stool & gas will happen eventually. Give it sometime. Its nothing to worry. Also, you can take homoeopathy medicines simultaneously for quick recovery & to prevent future recurrence of the fistula. To know more and for any other concern you can call us or reach us online.
