I'm on antipsychotics for four yrs. I had irregular cycles ended up in amenorrhea since one yr. I consulted a gynecologist. She did ultrasonogrm abdomen and pelvis which was found to be normal. Den she checked my hormone levels. Prolactin found to be elevated to 132ng/ml. I was advised to take MRI brain. Nd it had a bulge in article pituitary gland. Can the bulge be due to antipsychotic induced hyperprolactinaemia?

Yes prolactinomas are known to occur after prolonged treatment with antipsychotic drugs. But whatever the cause, better to get operated and have it removed after a short course with bromocriptine.
