Hello Mr. lybrate-user, wysolone is commonly used drug to alleviate pain in acute conditions however long term use is not recommonded unless no other alternative is available. So, now coming to your condition, you have osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Its important to know to explore your alternative treatment option which should suit you well. As you are a senior citizen, and prone for osteoporosis, any wysolone also cause steroid induced osteoporosis. You really need to check your bone density after correction of vitamin d deficiency if any. One last thing, don't stop wysolone abruptly, as it suppresses normal body hormone generation, which may lead to serious complications. You can go ahead to see a physician or orthopaedic surgeon or you can also book online consultation.

Wysolone is to be used when no other analgesics work and that to for a short period. 2 years is a long period. Think of getting operated instead of taking steroids. You can also do Hot fomentation(if you are not diabetic), apply diclofenac gel and do static quadriceps exercises.
