Earlier I had pcod, taken treatment for that, from last 6 months i'm getting regular period without taking any medication, this month my doctor suggested to take clofert 50 mg tablets for pregnancy, but I still got period on day 36. Is it possible to get late period after taking clofert 50 mg? Because earlier I was having regular periods. What is the reason for getting late period after taking clofert tablet? Please suggest me.

Hello! clofert is a tablet for helping egg development to happen. This may be earlier or later depending on how your body responds. So don't worry about the length of your cycle. But this medication goes hand in hand with checking your egg development with scan. It will indicate when best to have intercourse to increase chances of pregnancy.

Dear lybrate-user ji your menstrual cycle has to happen regularly and since you are a pcos case, your gyne doc might have prescribed you clofert for getting pregnant. Getting period on 36th day is nothing unusal as you might not be pregnant. Clofert aids in ovulation and can delay the period for some patients. The body is adjusting to the new change. Please do not loose hope and do go to your gynaecologist and discuss.
