In early pregnancy when there is bleeding and pain it's difficult to tell if the pregnancy will survive or not. At this stage even usg isn't very helpful. One test by which you can know is serum beta hcg. The test is done today and repeated after 48 hours. The value should double. If the value has reduced instead of increasing then the pregnancy isn't good. If it's increased but not doubled then another test can be done after 48 hours to give better idea of the status.
