Dear lybrate-user, while your concern for using insulin is valid, but it seems you are putting him at risk associated with uncontrolled diabetes. You have to understand that at some point oral meds will be insufficient to controll blood sugar hence insulin is needed which is most effective way. Uncontrolled blood sugar can lead to too many longterm complications like stroke, heart attack, loss of vision, leg ulcer etc. My advice would be to follow your physician advice even if it means starting insulin.
