Dear lybrate-user, just relax. Your mother most likely have a condition called bppv (beningn paroxysmal positional vertigo).in this disease certain particle repositional maneuvures are done which instantly control vertigo and there are no role of investigations or medications as this is a purely clinical diagnosis. Please consult a good ent specialist so that he/she may perform the said maneuvures. As far as your bp is concerned please consult a general physician. Yours respectfully.

Dear lybrate-user, one of the common causes for dizziness in patients with long standing blood pressure issues is either uncontrolled high blood pressure or low blood pressure especially on standing up, what we call postural hypotension. Your physician / cardiologist can help with this. Not all cases of postural hypotension will need medication and in those patients being aware and learning management techniques will go a long way in symptom control. Since there is a fainting feeling, and blurring of vision, this is more likely the cause but will need to be examined. The other common reason for dizziness is bppv or positional vertigo which is more common the older we get and it is best treated by positional manoeuvres. A good ent surgeon near you should be able to help your mother best wishes.
