I am 36 years old married woman. I am having uti problem from yesterday. After making relation. Yesterday I had taken norfloxacin. And today I had taken empty stomach only omeprazole due to feeling gas in my stomach. But I am not feeling completely well. From morning till afternoon I gone three four times for stool and many times fir urine. Feeling little bloated and not feeling well. I have nitrofurantoin tablet and fluconazole af-150. Shall I have to take this?

Hello Ms. lybrate-user. Norfloxacin is an antibiotics and taking just one is not enough. There is a fixed dosage and duration which needs to be followed. If taken less then it will create resistance. Second if you are getting uti after sexual intercourse then the source of infection is your partner. In that case you both will need to take complete treatment otherwise it will keep recurring. Third taking medicines blindly will only give you side effects and no relief. Instead of wasting money in over the counter medicines better consult and take proper treatment. It will save lots of suffering and time and money.
