Hi, age 53, I have enlarged prostrate, 30gm and post void urine 85 ml. Urine flow weak and feeling constant need to urinate. Psa 0.5. Prescribed veltam plus by doctor. Taking med for over a month. Improved flow of urine after a week but now condition kind of fluctuates. Better for few days and then again urine flow goes down and feeling returns. Do I need to change meds or go for surgery to get a stable urine flow.

You may switch over to alternative drugs to tamsulosin and see response or you may additionally take other drug such as pde5 inhibitors with your urologists consultation. See for one more month. If not much response then go for procedure such as turp. Uroflowmetry test will guide better.
