My baby is 2 months old (8 weeks). Baby was given a to z drops from 5th day. Doctor had prescribed 0.5 ml twice a day. It means 1 ml per day. But if we look at the label of syrup they have 1 ml shd be given bw 6-12 months babies. So, does it mean we have given overdose to baby. I am really worried. I hope multivitamin overdose won't harm baby. What shall I do? Shd I stop drops for few days or for month to reduce the effect?

If your baby is not premature no need to give multivitamin drops to him/her. Just need to give vitamin d drops till 1 year of age as it is deficient in breastmilk. Don't worry, your baby will not have side effects because of the dose you have given but you can discontinue it for the time being.

If your baby is exclusively breast fed, then using only vitamin d3 drops is sufficient. You can look for only vitamin d3 drops like ultrad3 etc which have 400iu per ml and use it once daily. If you baby is exclusively formula fed, then you do not need to use vitamin d3 drops also. If you baby is fed both breast and formula milk, then use vitd3 drops as mentioned at the above dosage. Hope this helps.

Was your child born prematurely, a few weeks before the expected date of delivery? Then usually vitamins are given in higher doses. If not so then you can skip for a few days and then give 0.5 ml once daily.
