Hi sir / madam, i'm a 27 years old male. I have been using minoxidil with finasteride solution since 2019 and I also take finasteride 1 mg tablet and multivitamin tablet once a day. These all grows baby hairs on my hairline but the problem is that the baby hairs is not growing thicker, denser and longer at all that's why I recently started to apply an ayurvedic onion hair oil with redensyl (mamaearth) on my scalp. But the main issue is that when i'm applying this oil it causes a lot of hairs fall out in my hand which really make me very disappointed and worried. So what should I do now? Should I stopped using this hair oil? Should I continue using this hair oil along with minoxidil? Please help me.

If dandruff is present, it should be checked and be controlled in this age group. Blood tests like cbpesr ,tsh, lft, rbs, s.ferritin levels, s.b12 levels, s.vitamin d levels, s.testosterone levels need to be checked to know the reason and to focus on the internal factors. Mean while ,take balanced diet with proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables, plenty of fluids for hydration, omega 3 rich foods like walnuts, flax seeds etc, iron rich foods like green leafy vegetables, liver, jaggery. Use a ph balanced shampoo .do not use too much of home remedies. Please do consult your dermatologist for further evaluation and management. Coming to the actual question, please do continue your minoxidil solution. Stop your ayurvedic hair oil as the ingredients not known. If you are interested ,you also can go for prp therapy or hair transplantation.

Hii, it's good that you had hair growth on your scalp after using minoxidil and finasteride. It takes time for the hair to become thicker. I would advise you hair to continue consultation with your dermatologist who had started you with these medications as he/she will judge your hair growth and add / change treatment accordingly. Recently, there has been a surge in skin and hair are products promoted on instagram by a few companies. Sadly, none of those products are worth their price and donot stand upto our expectations. That is what I know through patient's experience. Besides, minoxidil is age old tested technique, if you ll stop it now, hairs that had grown due to minoxidil may also shed off.
