My platelet count is 428500/cmm & mpv is 8.1fl.is it normal? Other blood reports are normal. I'm taking birth control pills & metformin for about 10 months for pcos purpose. Does it affect my increased platelet count? I'm 26 years old & unmarried.

Birth control pills do raise the platelet counts slightly but that doesn't cause any significant effect on health or fertility.

Your mpv is normal range birth control pills willnot cause platelet count increase, you have to ruleout other problems you have to undergo blood investigation crp. If it?s in normal range then need not worry.
