Dear doctor, I hope you are safe and well. I usually easily catch cold starting with a throat infection. I have started taking turmeric powder with black pepper half a spoon every night with lukewarm water as turmeric is known to cure common cold and improve immunity. I don't have any allergic reaction to turmeric but my doubt here is that is it possible to develop kidney stones with regular usage of turmeric in that amount? Thank you and I really appreciate what you doctors are doing for our country in these unbelievably tough times

Hello madam, greetings from your ayurveda wellness coach. Yes, usage of turmeric is good for reliving cold and throat infections and helps in boosting immunity. Based on my 15 years of experience as an ayurveda physician I would like to recommend a corrective method of intake of turmeric. I suggest you to use this turmeric 1/2 teaspoon that is 2.5 grams approximately and 3 to 4 pinches of black pepper powder with diluted milk of 100 ml to be consumed after 1 hour of the dinner and the milk should be above warm and you should drink slowly by sitting comfortable position. This will help to relieve any kind of cold or cough or throat irritations and there is no harm in taking this combination for a longer duration. Thanks and regards.
