Hi, my 2 months old baby boy doesn't pass stool for 3-4 days and cries a lot in night, by seeing my baby pain we used Dulcolax and castor oil when I used this baby is passing stool and again after 3-4 days baby is not passing stool and again not sleeping and crying a lot. Wen we consulted a pediatrician he gave motion syrup (livoluk) even which didn't work and my baby started getting cold and coughing. Please suggest what to do I am very much worried about my baby.

Hi lybrate-user, consistency and frequency of stool depends upon the type of milk you are feeding. Formula fed babies are more constipated. Passing stool in 3 to 4 days is a normal thing. And babies may cry during the passage of stool also. Actually no medication required for this. please try abdominal massage. Also, look for abdominal fullness, vomiting. If these are present please see your local doctor soon.
