Hello doctor, I am 36 years old, married for 4 months now. I was diagnosed with pcod in january and gynecologist had prescribed me miomet colo tabs n femilon. I have taken femilon for three months and I have stopped talking it from this month after finishing the pack, as we are planning for pregnancy. I got periods from 14-19, and again I am bleeding from 24th. Is it normal? Does this effect pregnancy? I am continuing met pco care as I did not get minute at my current city either online. Please advise.

Hello! After stopping femilon, you may have this issue as the body is readjusting itself back to normal when these tablets weren't used. It will improve in few cycles if your PCOS is under control. Till then kindly keep a check on your weight with dietary and physical exercise modifications. But as your age is 36 , would advice you to speeden up things by using tablets for egg development as usually egg development doesn't happen properly in PCOS, which is why you have the irregular cycles. Take care!

How much was the bleeding? If it was spotting only, take the femilon for two more months. If there was proper bleeding, get your thyroid and prolactin levels. There is no harm in met pco as it's the same as miomet. However in view of your advanced age I will suggest getting your amh levels and your husband's semen analysis and consult an infertility specialist if you don't conceive in another 3 months after stopping femilon. In the meantime, if you are overweight, try to reduce it with a healthy lifestyle and diet.
