My age is 50 and I have problem in hearing, as per pta report right ear has profound hearing loss (93. 33dbhl), left ear has moderate sensorineural hearing loss (51. 6dbhl) private clinic recommended usage of digital hearing aid (anervit plus med) and govt doctor recommended meds (ofloxacin opthalmic soln, zincostar, gcobal 500, flunil 60) for 15 days and told not to use hearing aid I am also on psychiatric medication (flunil 60, serenace 10, pacitane 2 mg, spenzo depot 20) my query is in my 50's should I go for hearing aid, if yes it should be digital or analog?

Dear lybrate-user, just relax. For your type of hearing loss medicines have no role to play at all. You should go for digital hearing aid as that alone will assist you in hearing better at least as far as your left ear is concerned. Though you may try on both ears.

Plz go for hearing aid as not able to communicate properly also gives rise to anxiety and depression amongst ppl .this can also cause added anxiety in your case. please use the hearing aid and no need for so many meds. Just take the ones advised by the psychiatrist.
