My sister is 23 years old and has been suffering from pcos since starting. Her major issues are irregular periods and obesity. She has gone through various treatments. Some of which may give her instant relief from irregular periods, but only till she used to have the medicine. Yesterday, she went for a usg of a whole abdomen. Her report mentions: 1. Liver is mildly enlarged with mild diffuse increased echoes all over. 2. Pancreas, normal in size, however mild diffuse increased echoes. 3. Ovarian volume are normal. 9-10 or more follicles are seen in each ovaries, sized 2*3 mm, 3*4 mm the overall impression portion specifies: a. Mild non specific hepatomegaly with fatty changes grade 1 b. Fatty pancreas otherwise normal c. B/l polycystic ovarian disease pattern suspected grossly normal rest of abdominal organs. Please throw some light on what this indicates and what steps should be taken. And are all these things interlinked? Also, which further tests should be done?
