My daughter is 48 days old. I was breastfeeding her, but she was vomiting and passing stool continuously we consulted child specialist and he told to do stool test. In the test we found that she is lactose intolerance. And doctor told to stop breastfeeding and told to give isomil. We are giving isomil from past 13 days. After giving isomil she is passing more urine. And cries for more milk. Can we change the formula milk, if yes then which formula milk will be best for my baby.

First of all, breastfeeding should never be stopped in mild/moderate lactose intolerance. If she's crying for more milk, then you should give her the same. She would normally need around 120-140 ml/feed every 3-4 hourly. Passing more urine is a good sign.

U can give her soya milk. Once she grows automatically she will bcm normal.

Passing more urine with isomil doesn’t sound medically right. More likely is a possibility that the concentration of powder in water is incorrect, pls check again on the box and use a measuring glass and the spoon coming with the box. Overdilution or overconcentration changes the osmolarity of formula. And if your child is crying for milk, you can give more till the child takes (if there’s no vomiting), but not forcefully. As a rough guide, multiply your child’s weight with 150 i.e. For a 3 kg child, upto 450 ml/day of milk can be given. Other options of lactose free formula are xerolac, nan lactose free, aptamil gold+ lactose intolerance.
