Hi doctor, my name is siddhartha, 29 yrs, male. I have a keloid on my chest. A dermatologist gave corticosteroid 40 mg injection. The keloid caught infection and pus formation happened and the keloid broke within 5 days of injection. Now the wound is not healing since 4 days. Am cleaning the wound with diluted dettol and applying mupi ointment to the wound (little deeper wound, approx 4-5 mm in diameter and 3 mm in depth after the pus is removed. I had taken corticosteroid injection to that keloid in the past but it never had caught infection like this. How to heal this wound now? Will the wound heal soon?

There are minimal chances of infection with injections but once there is infection its very difficult to treat keloid have a 80-90% chance of recurrence, but if the infection persist then better to get it removed with intralesional excision with skin grafting.
