I have been taking clobazam 10 mg since 2 year over for seizure problem, now im realizing this medicine has so much higher dependency and sedative effect. So I want to discontinue clobazam 10 mg fully, I had consulted with neurologist but when following doctor's suggestion for discontinue, I felt so much side effects out of tolerate. So what is the best safer way to discontinue of this medicine? Please suggest the method.

Hello, If the seizures are under control for the last 2 years it is worthwhile to taper off the drugs one by one. Some dependency may be there but first try to stop Clobazam. It has to be tapered down gradually over a period of 2-3 months . I suggest that you decrease 2.5 mg of clobazam every 20 days( complete tapering will take 80 days a bit long tapering but in view of your withdrawl symptoms that will be best after that you can taper Lacosam after consultation
