Dear lybrate-user, how are you sure that cabergoline has induced the psychosis? It is possible that her psychiatric disorder needed long term treatment. She stopped the treatment because she was 'normal' without treatment. Now she has relapsed with the same psychiatric disorder. Many severe psychiatric disorders need long term medicines for maintaining 'normalcy' to progress further in rehabilitation. There are antipsychotic medicines like ziprasidone that does not induce hyperprolactinemia. Please discuss with your psychiatrist. Please discuss with your endocrinologist about the psychiatric medicines - though she is not currently taking them.

It may not be carbegoline induced. Psychosis can relapse after few months, if medications are stopped. She needs to be treated again with antipsychotics and if carbegoline is essential, continued along with it. Good luck
