Hi, i've been masturbating at least one time for about 10 years now, someday 2-3 times. For this, I consulted a psychiatrist he advised me to take setral 50 mg in the morning and etilaam 25 mg in the night. But I didn't know these are antidepressants, have read about it online found many side effects. Also, I did masturbation today morning, didn't enjoy as I was enjoying earlier and also my libido dropped significantly. I have taken 4 etilaam 25 mg and 4 setral 50 mg till now. How long these tablets affects will be there? I know my excessive masturbation can be controlled by myself, i've also started to go gym and will be joining yoga and meditation class in 2-3 days. I want to discontinue taking these antidepressants. Any help on this would be appreciated and happy consult online.

pehle toh daro mat. Kuch nahi hoga. Char din medications kaa effect ek jagye mein khatam hone jayega. Mahino use kare toh effect hone ke chances jyaada hote hai, varna itne khaase side effects 2-4 din use karne se nahi hote. Darr ke vajah se aapko sabhi jyaada mehsoos ho raha hai. So first calm down. And it's great to hear, you are starting yoga and meditation. Because that is the thing you must first try. Then if it doesn't give results you should think of medications. Be natural. Faayda mein rahoge. Counselling ki jarurat ho to ring me.

A sudden stoppage of the medication will put you at risk of adverse effects of withdrawal. These medications should be gradually withdrawn over a period of 6 months - 1 year. Rest assured, most of the major effects of these medications (including loss of libido) only lasts so long as the medication levels are sufficiently high in your body. Once it is cleared by the liver and kidneys, you are good to go. But the withdrawal course of the medication should be planned only after an one-to-one consult and not taken by personal decision alone as it can create severe depression symptoms and suicidal ideation if withdrawn rapidly.
