My mom had hip surgery. After 15-20 days she started having pus from inside the stitches due to infection of proteus bacteria. Since then she is taking antibiotics and some calcium nd other medicines. Now after 2.5-3 months her wounds is ok bt still have severe pain. Please suggest what we should do to take care of her?

Dear lybrate-user please mention why the surgery was done. Was is a replacement surgery? Depending upon why the surgery was done and what surgery wa done, one may be able to guide you. Normally if its a hip replacement surgery, full recovery may take about a year. However, severuty of pain should gradually decrease over time. Take care.
