My mother aged 86 years has vertigo issues. An ent specialist has prescribed ginkgo biloba 40 mg twice a day. This medicine has reduced the issue to a fair extent. However I would like to know if we can give her ginkgo biloba q instead of the tablet at least for one dose every day? (in the basic information section details about the patient has been given)

Better ask treating doctor. As it's a chronic problem.

Dear lybrate-user, relax and tell your mother to calm down. Vertigo can be dealt with in a neuro-otalgic way. It needs a thorough ear balance examination rather than by arbitary way of prescribing only drugs and that too in a empirical way. Please consult your good nearby ent specialist so that this vexing situation can be dealt with at the earliest.
