Hi, on 11th october, I did a pregnancy test, but there was a faint second line. So I did a usg and it was detected I was 4 weeks pregnant. I wasn't ready for it so I went through a medical abortion. I had bleeding for 2-3 days which was light and today is 21st november, I still haven't got my periods. I also have moderate pcos. I did usg and the sac is empty, but I did pregnancy test, it's showing light second line (it is not full line, cracked half line). Doctor has given me regestrone injection. I'm confused am I still pregnant or is k periods is because of pcos. It's been 5 weeks since the abortion bleeding has stopped. Please please help.

A light line will persist for around 6 weeks even after abortion is complete. Since ultrasound showed no sac and you have received regesterone, wait for sometime, the periods should come.

Good evening lybrate-user. Your query is genuine. It’s ok to have faint second line for up to 2 months after abortion. You are not pregnant most likely as your ultrasound says so. You will get your periods in a few days.

Hi the issue happened because you have taken medical termination of pregnancy decision very early I really you should have waited for another 10 to 15 days to start taking medical abortion pills so it ends up in a complete termination right now if you want to find out whether you have a progressive pregnancy or not is to do a beta hcg blood test if it is dropping down it is favourable for termination to be completed as you have told that the ultrasound scan this normal need more explanation contact me directly riha.

Do not bother about the second line in pregnancy test. It takes time to disappear. Usg has shown that uterus is empty so you are not pregnant. So relax. Regesterone will initiate a new menstrual cycle but if you are not willing to start a family yet, please do take adequate precaution.
