My mother 80, taking bp medicine since 2013. Starting tazloc am for approx 5 yrs, then a physician changed as tel plus, trip in om 40/29. Now since 3 years it is cresar h. But sir due to cresar h she needs frequent urination, however her bp reading is fluctuating from 130/90 to 150/90. Now we want to change cresar h, amplodine makes her ankle swelling.

H I is hydrochlorothiazide. It's a short acting diuretic. So put of urine increase. Fluctuations is within range. If you need to change I need to consult with your treating doc.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. Where only medicine's names are given. But there is no mention whether patient's bp is in control or not. Secondly it is not clear which ones she is taking at present. Please clarify what are the current medications - tablet telplus then what? Trip in om is what? If it is tripin om then it contains olmisartan, amlodepine & hydrochlorthiazide. Tablet cresar h is again telmisartan with hydrochlorthiazide. Amlodepine is known to cause lower limb edema (swelling) in a few patients, so if that is the issue it must be avoided. Plus if bp is 130/90 to 150/90 it is fine for her age. There is no need to try and reduce it too much. If you have any questions pease do come back. Thanks. In this communication we are not supposed to recommend any medications. Only in private conversation that can be done. Thanks.

Yes cresar h is known to cause excess urination and amlodepine is known to cause ankle swelling. There are many alternatives to these medicines. If she doesn't have too much urine trouble with cresar h then continue the same otherwise consult online for prescription.
