I am chronic depressive patient. Used paroxetine 50 mg and lamotrigine 200 mg for 10 years. Currently I am on lamictal 200 mg only. Tapered paroxetine gradually, as mood got stabilized with lamictal alone. I am experiencing rem sleep disorder behaviour since last 5 years and frequency increasing gradually. I experience sudden involuntary jerks (myoclonic) in my body, violent dreams and acting out weird dreams like kicking with hands and legs, moving hands and legs using abusive language and shouting etc all this happen during night time while asleep. Sometimes I fall out of bed while acting out my dreams. On docs advise I took clonazepam 0.5 mg for two weeks, it helped me to some extent. Since it is benzo I stopped taking after two weeks. Again my sleep problems persisted and increasing day by day. I tried melatonin (6 mg) but it does nt help me. Advise any add on safe medication to lamictal the currently using, so that it can address/ resolve my rem sleep behaviour disorder problem.

Clonazepam is the only choice for myoclonic jerks with ssri. Though bento, it has to be used when such symptoms occur on a regular basis under psychiatrist supervision. Good luck.
