Hi. My a/g ratio is 8.5. Albumin is 37.40 g/l and globulin is 41.8 g/l. Total protein 79.20 g/l. Could you please tell me what this could mean? How do I improve this ratio? Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user the protein levels mentioned by you are definitely not normal. These are probably due to an underlying disease. Treatment of the specific disease will bring your protein levels down. Unfortunately there are no drugs which will act only on bringing the protein down. Please share more details of your condition, so I may guide you to more tests if needed to determine your specific condition. Take care.
