Hello post inguinal hernia mesh hernioplasty pain is usual. Most of the cases are due to tissue reaction to the mesh placed and goes with time. However rarely it may be due to nerve entrapment in the suture, and if it's so it persists. You must wait for a month or two more. And if it still persists and causes discomfort, then consult your operating surgeon or a pain specialist. Regards.

Hello sir, thank you for reaching out to Lybrate. Surgeries at an advanced age usually have several risks involved. Getting through surgery and recovering thus far without any major complications, is great news. Some "soreness" can last for a couple of months. It does not necessarily say that the surgical wound has not healed/healing or there is a problem. There are some factors that can cause delayed wound healing - age, co-existing illnesses like anemia, diabetes or other metabolic disorders, nutritional status and so on. If there is no swelling or redness in the region, if there is no fever, etc. You should be fine. If your problem persists or you still have doubts, you can always visit the operating surgeon, he would examine the wound and will be able to tell you better. If need be, he might get some investigations to ensure all is well. Hope you feel better soon.
