Hi I have been experiencing recurring sinusitis since last 5-7 years. Doctor had advised me small surgery which I am afraid of as I have heard that does’t helps everyone. My question is is there any long term treatment that I can take because I don’t wish surgery. My current condition is like I get this sinus trouble as I sleep or after waking up. At times I even get dizzy and vertigo which comes under control when I take levocet m. Please advise me what can be done further. Thanks.

First we need to diagnose the type of sinusitis you are having, yes sinusitis is a medical disease to be treated with medicines only and surgery just facilitates the medicines to reach deep into each sinuses. You need to get a ct scan and sinonasal endoscopy done, if there is some structural thing leading to sinusitis or its afrs then definitely you will need surgery to treat it, otherwise depending on the disease load can be managed with maximal/appropriate medical therapy and if it fails then may need surgery.
