A healthy newborn is expected to lose 7% to 10% of the birth weight, but should regain that weight within the first 2 weeks or so after birth. During their first month, most newborns gain weight at a rate of about 1 ounce (30 grams) per day.

Don't focus on weight too much. you can feed every 2 hours if the baby is taking proper feeding. if there are no abnormal symptoms then no worries.

You have to give mother’s feed every 1.5-2 hourly. He would gain about 30 gm weight per day for the first 3 months from day of life 10 provided adequate feeds are given.
