Dear mam, side effects of intensity modulated radiation therapy for carcinoma prostate could be rectal reactions like difficulty in passing motions, painful defecation or burning in the rectal passage, urinary frequency, burning urination, Urethritis. Rarely there can be erectile dysfunction and incontinence. Treatment should be directed symptomatically, mostly they are not very severe after IMRT and are self limiting, you should drink lots of water for better hydration and flushing, take healthy, high protein diet, get blood tests done and follow up with psa levels.
