Hi I am s l e patient and under medication, I had regular periods but with very little amount of blood flow, I went for check up and found out I had ovarian hemorrhagic cyst. My doctor gave me contraceptive pil for 3 months, along with cycloset syrup. Wanted to know is it safe taking contraceptive pil for an s l e patient will it not cause problem in conceiving.

Combined hormonal contraceptives such as the birth control pill may be used in some patients with lupus, but should not be used in those with very active disease or increased risk for blood clots including those with positive antiphospholipid antibodies, a history of blood clots, or other risk factors.
