I am mother of 1 and half month old baby boy. My baby is born through emergency c sec due to prom. Almost just 5 days in 9th month of my pregnancy. So he was not able to latch properly for about 1 month. My family fed him with lactogen 1 using feeding bottle now after 1 month he is able to latch but he is so used to bottle that he does not want to take the effort of latching and wants to be fed easily and comfortably with bottle only and other main issue is my milk supply is extremely low. I tried lactonic granules. Now taking promolact capsules but as my baby does not latch and even if I feed him 40 min he is not satisfied. So I often stop feeding him and give him lactogen through out day. This making me lose breast milk suggest pls.

You need to try every 2 hours for latching whether baby cries or not. Stop bottle completely. Drink lots of water and take Fenugreek and fennel in your diet along with the medicine. Try this for few days. If this doesn't work, use a breast pump to remove breast milk and feed it.

Hi! lybrate-user. 5 days into 9th month is around 35 weeks when latching can be taught to the baby now both the issues of the mothers milk and disinterest in sucking are both due to keeping the baby on formula feed. Hope you have continued the breast feeding through this one month also. It is said that milk production can be induced even in non pregnant female by stimulation. The stimulation includes sucking, cry, touch and baby care. Factors which improve breast milk 1. Fennel seeds 2. Plenty of water 3. Oats with fruit. Can make with fresh fruits 4. Ginger, garlic 5. All dry fruits 6. Adequate sleep 7. Emptying the breast every 2 hrs irrespective of amount of feed expressed. Constant stimulation is important you can keep the baby on breast before every feed. After that if baby is not drinking, can express with a pump and give. Even pumping is good stimulant.
